PUBLIC NOTICE ECCO WASTE SYSTEMS LTD ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT ACT NOTICE OF APPLICATION In accordance with the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, ECCO Waste Systems LP by its General Partner ECCO Waste Systems Ltd. has applied to Alberta Environment and Parks for a one year extension of the existing approval which expires on July 1, 2016. An extension would allow the approval holder to follow the terms and conditions of the existing approval until July 1, 2017 or until a renewal approval is issued, whichever comes first. The Calgary ECCO Class Ill dry waste landfill includes mainly a material recycling facility which processes waste for recycling and re-use and a dry waste landfill which accepts more than 10,000 tonnes per year of dry waste for disposal. This landfill is located at 9908 -24th Street SE, Calgary and the legal land description is Section 16, Township 23, Range 29, West of the 4th Meridian. This notice of application is only for the extension of the existing approval. A separate application for renewal of this approval has previously been advertised and that application is being processed. A directly affected person may provide input into certain regulatory decisions, as allowed by the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (section 73). Please provide a telephone number and/or email address for ease of contact. Environment and Parks will review each written statement of concern, seek more information if needed, and notify each filer by letter of the decision to accept or reject their written submission as a valid statement of concern. Statements of concern submitted regarding this application are public records which are accessible by the public and the applicant. Failure to file a statement of concern may affect the right to file a Notice of Appeal with the Environmental Appeals Board.
